Vince and Kathy By Dale "Don't be frightened Cathy" Dr. Tang said in warm reassuring tones , "just pretend its just you and Vince on your wedding night."Cathy stared at her food... even her favorite raviolli didn't tempt her. She felt almost ill. Vincent too felt the tension.. Fear , anger, even nausea, excitement... all mixed up inside--dreading what would come next. Hollice Tang had gotten up and reassuringly placed his hand on Vince's shoulder saying "You're doing right by Cathy-- and yourself too Vince and even for the little one- its going to be yours really---yours and Kathy's ---remeber why you're here." He thought about all that Hollice was saying. Thoughts raced through his mind in a confused jumble as for the last few weeks Hollice's proposal had occupied his every spare moment. Cathy wanted a child that somehow he couldn't seem to provide. His friend and boss Hollice had gently convinced him.At first no way----- no way at all---couldn't even think....his anxious and hurt reaction to such a crazy proposal. And coming from the person that Vince respected more than even his old high school friend Dale. He wished Dale were here now so he could at least speak with someone about.... But how could he even tell Dale what was going on -- I don't know how I could even tell! Am I making a mistake?? Cathy's lower lip quivered as her hand lifted jerikily to cover her mouth then to smooth her brunett hair cut short.Short hair made it easier to get to work on time where she worked as a maid at Super 8.Her teeth always embarrased her --- when she smiled---"I look like a hick" she had used to think when she was in high school----"with all my freckles". Vince looked at his wife's face and even if her features wern't perfect ----her glasses and all---her complection was so perfect and her modest way of dressing concealed her very exciting body. Her warm soft spots were his alone and the only part of Vince's life that made him feel truly special. Neither Vince nor Cathy werevery popular in High School and they were happy to move away from Bakersfield but both missed their family and friends. School had been hard for both but here in Phoenix they easily found jobs . Lots of minimum wage stuff were around but Vince finally was hired to clean up after the anesthesiologists when a hospital found that he had no record of drug or other problems. He later found this was a problem with hospital and surgery people. Actually both Vince and Kathy had been "good kids" before going to Las Vegas and getting married but really having only dated each other .. At the hospital Vince first met Dr. Tang . He was different from the others. Most nurses and doctors were a little snooty when they wanted something done. It was like high school..He rembered how Cathy made him feel special. Neither of them were very popular---- probably but that was why he was so frightened now. Hollice left Vince and went around the table to stand behind Cathy.." Now you both need to trust me. "Call me Hollice Cathy- I'm your friend too tonight not just a doctor but pretend I'm your Doctor...try to think about the baby. Is this goin to be a little boy or a little girl. This is not about sex. This is about the love you both have for each other." Vince stood up suddenly "Cathy I don't want this! I just can't !" Vince rushed around the table as she looked up with startled eyes. We can adopt or go to the clinic..anything but honey I can't stand this!" Hollice still behind Cathy looked gently at Vince and stated quietly "you know what I told you about the problems the clinic has had. You don't want Kathy to have to go though all that with strangers and maybe get some disease or complication. Now Vince just relax and for a little bit go sit in your chair and lets talk one more time." Vince you---both of you ---this is a beautiful thing to bring a child into the world----don't forget that this is good ----the right thing---- for both of you" "But the baby is going to be your's- your's and Cathy's not mine!!" Vince whined. I just don't think...." Hollice in his quiet deep voice reassued both of them "remember Cathy will see you, feel you, smell, hold you in her mind----it, the baby I mean,will be yours--- -the two of you---your love that makes this family.I'm the God father and always will be your friend---- to both of you...." Hollice began gently massaging Cathy's shoulders as Vince moved unsteadily toward his chair. His home-it seemed unreal ----another man in his home. Hollice had been his friend ---almost more of a father. But something about Hollice made Vince anxious---deep inside..... Hollice had instructed them both that from Cathy's time they were not to have sex for two weeks. "Vince, keep yourself full of semen and as you see your wife being opened you'll be fine. She kissed Vince on the chest and lay still.. " Try to finish Cathy" Hollice said in a proffessinal way. "You......you will be....your knees will be between my....your knees between....and you will do it...".she finished quickly. "And what about Vince Cathy? What about Vince?" "He will hold me and touch me and kiss me and try not to do anything......until later""Why Cathy why must Vince wait ...why is that so important.?" Hollice was acting like a teacher a little irritating but that was just his way. "You say he may panic after he comes ---with his seed gone he will wish... he will feel....bad....wish we hadn't .....you know...." " Vince seeing Cathy will be exciting just like now but after your empty you have to remember why and that's when to hold her and love her in your arms. The bad feelings will go away and Vince you tell Cathy the other thing" "What other thing?" Vince replied confused with all that was happening. "After I leave what must you two do?"
